The Episcopal Church THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN THE USA (ECUSA) is the American branch of the Anglican Communion which numbers about 80 million members worldwide. The ECUSA came into existence as an independent denomination after the American Revolution. Today it has approx. 2.2 million members in the United States and Central America, all of which are under the jurisdiction of The Most Reverend Frank Tracy Griswold III, Primate and Presiding Bishop. GRACE CHURCH is a parish of the of the EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF LOUISIANA under the jurisdiction of The Right Reverend Charles Edward Jenkins III, Bishop.

With all other Christian churches the Episcopal Church exists under one Head, our Lord Jesus Christ. We share in the common heritage of the Holy Scriptures which we believe to be authoritative and inspired. We follow in teaching of the ancient church as expressed in the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed. Lead by the Holy Spirit we seek to respect the dignity of all people and serve the world in Christ's Name. The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion is a place where Christians from all theological perspectives can gather as one, to  worship the One who has created, redeemed, and sanctifies us. We are united by a shared tradition of worship as found in The Book of Common Prayer.

The Anglican Communion There are nearly 80 million members of the Anglican family in 35 self-governing Member Churches or Provinces in more than 160 countries. The Churches of the Anglican Communion are linked by affection and common loyalty They are in full Communion with the See of Canterbury and thus the Archbishop of Canterbury, in his person, is a unique focus of Anglican Unity. Every ten years Anglican bishops meet for the Lambeth Conference in England. The life and worship at Grace Church has been enriched by the participation of Anglicans from other parts of the world.
