Highlights from the Streetcar Blessing
May 29 and
May 30 were set aside by the City to dedicate and celebrate the return of
the Canal Street
Streetcar Line
On Saturday, May 29, at 10 a.m., Grace Church clergy and parishioners
processed to the neutral ground in front of the church.
Three
Streetcars were
blessed, and prayers were said for the new line during the procession to the end
of the block.
The red balloons commemorated the red color of the cars and the Feast of
Pentecost on Sunday.
