A Prayer
Most Merciful, Most Compassionate God
Hear our prayers for your people affected by Hurricane Katrina
And let their cries come unto You.

O God, the floods have engulfed the land
The storms made a wasteland of water
How can we sing to you
When so many have died or are missing?

Strengthen those who cling to life
Keep their hope and hearts alive;
Revive the weary rescue workers and tired medical teams
Renew the resolve of those who have lost everything.

Quicken all efforts to rush resources and aid
Send our people to help;
Open our hearts to give and give again
That we may be generous bearers of healing and help.

God of the Universe
Pour out your Spirit of mercy and compassion
In Your Name we pray.  AMEN.

Vespers and Solemn Mass
of the Nativity of Our Lord
Christmas Eve at 5 p.m.

Each Sunday (including Christmas Day and New Year)
Eucharist in the chapel at 10 a.m.

The church and rectory are largely cleaned out. Work continues each Saturday and during the week.

Our first Eucharist since Katrina was celebrated on Sunday, October 23 on the grounds of the church. On October 30, The Rt. Rev. George E. Packard, Bishop Suffragan for Chaplaincies, from the Episcopal Church Center in New York, was our preacher and celebrant. On All Saints' Sunday we had a procession around the neighborhood. In Advent we were able to move into the newly cleaned chapel for Sunday Mass, with chairs arranged in facing rows, the lectern at one end, and the altar at the other.

Grace Church is being cleaned and rebuilt.
Please pray for us.

 Contact the Rector for Information or to inform us of your whereabouts.
Most parishioners have been accounted for.
